The impact knocked off his front wing causing Ricciardo to have to limp around the whole track.

Schumacher, Michael (Mercedes Grand Prix) Crash due to driver error level 5Causing safety car to come out 9 pts Catching Perez as he dropped back from a scuffle with Rosberg, Schumacher collided with Perez.

Perez, according to Schumacher, braked early for the corner catching Schumacher unawares. Schumacher collided heavily with Perez in a crash, lifting his nose up into the air.

Schumacher was now a passenger as he slid across the track and into the tyre wall. The safety car was brought out to clean up the mess.

Being so closed to the end, the safety car was left to cool down and the field passed gingerly by the stricken car.

Massa, Felipe (Ferrari) Mouthing offMouthing off 10 pts Massa, displeased with Hamilton’s on track performance talked to Hamiton and the press.

In the period following the race Massa approached Hamilton whilst he was being interviewed and patted him hard on the shoulder and said “Good job pal, very good!”

Later Massa commented to BBC Sport:

“Again, he cannot use his mind, Even in qualifying, so can you imagine in the race? He could have caused a big accident and he’s paying for that. I was in the middle (of the track) and then got a puncture, which cost me a lot.

“When the Safety Car came in I had the wrong tyres. The FIA must look at this and penalise him all the time. He can’t even listen to his father, so can you imagine he listens to me?”

Senna was informed by his team that Perez, the car in front of him, was on the same lap. Perez, however, was a lap in front. Senna tried to overtake and had contact with Perez.

Kobayashi, Kamui (Sauber) Crash due to driver error level 2Causing a Red Flag 7 pts Hit the kerbs hard and crashed into the barriers.

The impact against the kerbs gave Kobayashi air and after that he was a passenger. Kobayashi crashed into the wall ripping the right front wheel off. The session was red-flagged so the marshals could clean up the mess.

 
Hamilton, Lewis (McLaren) Puncture 5 pts During Q2, Hamilton had a puncture in his right rear tyre, ruining a set of tyres.

As the Ferraris and Mclarens proceeded out onto the track together, Massa, who was traveling slower than Hamilton really liked, eventually let Hamilton by. This was not before Hamilton had made some poor attempts to get around the Brazilian.

Massa was quoted as saying “The incident with Hamilton? Honestly, I don’t understand why he wanted to pass at all costs: we were all in a line on our “out” lap and there was nothing to be gained from acting like that.”

During FP1, Webber thought that Glock was letting him through. However, the Virgin driver was not letting Webber though and closed the door. The two touched and Webber lost his front win with Glock having to limp back to the pits with a puncture.

The session was red flagged to clean up the mess.
