| Race | |||||
| Vettel, Sebastian (Red Bull Racing) |
3 pts | Push Button on to the grass in the run into turn 1. Button was heard to complain on his team radio that Vettel should get a punishment for pushing him off. Vettel was placed under investigation but the stewards found no fault and Vettel was not punished. |
1 | |
| Liuzzi, Vitantonio (Hispania Racing) |
1 pts | Trying to recover from his qualifying position, Liuzzi goes wide at the Esses. |
6 | |
| Hamilton, Lewis (McLaren) |
6 pts | Ran wide in the Spoon curve and then had to defend heavily against Alonso. The reason for Hamilton’s off track moment was a puncture in his right rear tyre. |
8 | |
| Buemi, Sebastien (Scuderia Toro Rosso) |
2 pts | Ran into the gravel at the Esses with his right front wheel off. Having pitted on that lap, Buemi’s wheel had not been correctly attached and at the first opportunity it detached itself. His team were fined 5,000 euros for not fitting the tyre correctly. |

| Scuderia Toro Rosso |
6 pts | Fined 5,000 euros for not fitting the wheel to Buemi’s car correctly during his stop. |
12 | |
| Hamilton, Lewis (McLaren) |
7 pts | Coming into the final chicane of the lap, Hamilton moved over on the speeding Massa. Coming out of the Spoon curve, Massa moved up the outside of Hamilton for the next corner. Hamilton, not seeing Massa, moved over and the two collided. The damage was light but a part of Massa’s front wing was removed and his floor was damaged. The loose parts were in the middle of the track and the safety car was brought out to clear up the mess. |
21 | |
| Webber, Mark (Red Bull Racing) |
6 pts | Made contact with Schumacher loosing part of his front wing. Together with the incident of Hamilton and Massa, this incident led to the Safety Car being deployed. |
21 | |
| Vettel, Sebastian (Red Bull Racing) |
4 pts | Got annoyed at d’Ambrosio and waved his hand at him. |
45 | |
| Button, Jenson (McLaren) |
8 pts | Stopped on the track after crossing the line. Most likely Button was saving the dregs of fuel in his tanks for the FIA. |

| Qualifying | |||||
| Hamilton, Lewis (McLaren) |
1 pts | Ran wide at the Spoon curve. |
| Rosberg, Nico (Mercedes Grand Prix) |
11 pts | Had hydraulic issues in Qualifying the prevented him from setting a time. In the end Rosberg did not set a time and failed to make 107% of the leaders time. The stewards, however, allowed him to race. |
| Liuzzi, Vitantonio (Hispania Racing) |
10 pts | More mechanical problems stopped Liuzzi taking part in qualifying In the end Liuzzi did not set a time and failed to make 107% of the leaders time. The stewards, however, allowed him to race. This decision was unusual, because no where in the weekend so far had Liuzzi set a time within 107% of the leaders time. |
| Hamilton, Lewis (McLaren) |
3 pts | Before beginning his last flying lap of Qualifying, Hamilton lifted off much to the surprise of the drivers behind. Both Webber and Schumacher were caught out by the move which was no doubt designed to create clean air for Hamilton on his final run. Schumacher had to take the grass to avoid a collision and he later called the action “stupid”. |
