Moreno, Roberto (Benetton) Crash due to driver error level 1 1 pts A problem with Patrese’s Williams’s gear change system caused him to half-spin on lap fifty. He was wrestling with his FW14 in an attempt to rejoin the race when Roberto Moreno’s Benetton flew round the corner and ran straight into the Williams. Moreno’s’ B190B monocoque was totally destroyed in the accident but amazingly the FW14 survived intact bar a damaged nose box. Both drivers were out of the race on the spot.

He started to push hard and he came unstuck at the final chicane. He lost control of his B191 and the excursion over the high, ridged kerb damaged the car’s left-rear suspension. Moreno was out of the race.

Under braking for the second chicane on lap three the rear brakes on his Jordan locked up hard. This pitched Moreno into a spin into the gravel and retirement. This was hardly the race Moreno needed after he had been ousted from Benetton, his career hanging by a thread.

Moreno, Roberto (Euro Brun Racing) Crash due to driver error level 1 1 pts After squeezing through Pre-Qualifying Roberto Moreno totalled his Euro Brun at Tosa, thirteen minutes into the Saturday Free practice session, seriously bruising his leg. He was in some discomfort for the rest of the race weekend.

 
Moreno, Roberto (Euro Brun Racing) Dunce 1 pts In the drag down to Tosa on the first lap Mansell pulled out all the stops to get past his team mate Alain Prost. His approached lacked finesse and he got a wheel on to the grass, kicking up a huge dust cloud. As Moreno’s Euro Brun passed through the dust cloud the debris would block a throttle sensor on the car, causing him to cost to a halt and retirement before the end of the lap.

1 pts Moreno was excluded from the race meeting at the end of Saturday. He spun his Euro Brun trying to pick up a tow from Nannini’s Benetton. He was given a push start by the marshals as he had stalled his engine. The new rule that prohibited push starts had been introduced for that weekend and Moreno had not been informed of the new rule by the Euro Brun Team Manager, who had just placed a note in Moreno’s’ briefcase.
