Spin out of race on lap 16
By lap sixteen, Justin Wilson had worked his way up to sixteenth place: the Englishman’s
car fuelled for a "one-stop strategy. As Wilson entered, turn three; he became
the first victim of the stream that was running across the track. Water from the
adjacent hill was running down, under the Armco barrier and onto the track.
Wilson had been caught out the on previous lap but having not learned the lesson,
his foot stayed on the accelerator too long. The Minardi began to aquaplane, before
spinning to a halt, it’s engine dead. Wilson’s race was over.
