This is the very last frame of the footage form the inboard camera
of Senna’s Williams as it headed into the concrete barrier. The Formula One Constructors
Association (FOCA) supplied the in-car footage from Senna’s FW16 car to Williams
later that may. The chief prosecutor in the Senna manslaughter trial, Maurizio
Passarini, said he had asked for the pictures from Senna's car on the May 9th.
FOCA claimed that the request had been interpreted as shots of the impact, which
they stated did not exist, did exist. Passarini was doubtful and he expressed
the opinion that the tape had been doctored. FOCA threatened legal action over
the claim and explained that the footage ended due to the director cutting to
another shot. Passanini’s claim was not upheld. Many still believe that the missing
1.6 seconds of footage is in existence and they were withheld for reasons that
can not be discussed here. (These pictures would have shown Ayrton's reaction
to the steering prior to impact with the concrete wall at Tamburello.)
