After the start line accident that involved Lamy and Lehto the
safety car was deployed and the race completed three tours behind the safety car
at a significantly reduced speed. The effect of this would be the loss of temperature
in the cars tyres and thus a loss in pressure. The result of this is that the
cars would be running closer to the ground than normal at the re-start. It was
noted that Senna’s car was "bottoming out" more than usual after the safety car
was withdrawn.
